Finally the time has come: The wooden beams of the old “Tivoli” in Aachen are now being converted to floor panels for the interior and exterior of our house. Therefore, we had to move the large and heavy elements away from their storage site in Jülich to a truck and we transported them to the wood shop at the Faculty of Architecture, where the planks are produced. There we had a specific training on the circular saw, getting all necessary safety instructions. Equipped with work clothes, safety glasses and ear plugs, we were then able to practice our first cuttings. After that we used a metal detector to remove all hidden nails before starting with the saw. In the next few weeks the entire floor of the Counter Entropy House is going to be built.
