Tell me what was new.

From beam to parquet flooring

After receiving the go-ahead on the part of the University Hospital Aachen, the Counter Entropy Team drove to the old Tivoli, equipped with a heavy-goods vehicle. We wanted our plans, which consist of the old beams’ cutting into ribs and therefore giving them a second life as a wooden floor, to be realized. So we took the needed wood with us, preparing for a lot of work with it.

''Stegreif'' presentation

To involve as many architecture students as possible in the project gathering new ideas for the interior of the ''Counter Entropy House'', we organized with the help of the chair of sculpture as so called ''Stegreife''. During these drafts, developed and implemented in only a couple weeks, the participants are dealing with individual furniture for our house. For instance under the title ''Ein Ding ein Licht'' - '' An item a light'' they have to design a lamp, which is according to our ''Counter Entropy“ idea characterized by direct or indirect ''Object-Recycling''. Furthermore they have the chance to design a sustainable chair as well as a wardrobe made of ecological material. For the first ''Stegreif'' 50 interested students are already participating, providing us with creativ ideas. The best draft has the chance to be realized in our house and will be seen by about 200.000 visitors from all over the world in Madrid.
